a lot of firsts

This Sunday was a Sunday full of firsts. Frank introduced me to my first bowl of real ramen (I know, I know) and it was also my first time visiting the James Turrell Skyspace at the de Young Museum (50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive). The skyspace was its own little secluded area, separate from the main building of the museum. Almost like a mini sanctuary you could escape to for moments on end. I was in awe of the light and shadow shapes that were in partnership with the sun as time progressed. Frank, to say the least, is a complete fanboy over Turrell's work with light and space. He wanted me to experience just a taste of why Turrell was so genius artistically . . . and he definitely proved just that.

P.S. We ate ramen at the new spot in Hayes Valley called Nojo Ramen.
